    Regional Workshop on Spectrum Sharing in 5G context

    A regional workshop on ‘Spectrum Sharing in 5G context’ was held on 14-15 December 2021, in cooperation with the European Commission under the TAIEX instrument (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange), with the aim of examining the best practice of EU Member States in radio spectrum sharing and measures implemented by EU member states for the 5G Auction.

    During the two-day workshop, participants from the Eastern Partner countries were introduced to the work of the Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) on spectrum sharing, 5G licence obligations in different EU countries, EU regulation on spectrum sharing, licensed shared access (LSA) spectrum sharing model, etc.The workshop took place in parallel to the sixth Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels on 15 December 2021, where the leaders of the EU, the EU member states and the Eastern partner countries adopted a Joint Declaration, which highlighted the importance of securing 5G networks by alignment with the EU coordinated approach, for the purpose of which implementation of the Regional Spectrum Agreement (RSA) will be supported.
